As part of the ACS Education Committee’s mission to foster professional growth in chemistry. It sponsors a winter professional-development activity.
The 2009-2010 winter teacher professional-development day was held at The University of Michigan Lurie Nanofabrication Facility in Ann Arbor.
Teachers
- Watched and even got to assist in the preparation of silicon-base nano-etched wafer.
- Toured the entire facility from the underbelly basement to attic.
- Watched a short video describing the basics of nanotechnology.
- Spent more than two hours not including lunch to accomplish the above.
